When I started Art 4, I didn’t know what focus I wanted to do, and it wasn’t until halfway through the first quarter where I started getting inspiration for my ideas. It started with the spider sculpture. I read the book IT and at one part a spider with the head of a human terrorizes the characters. So I decided to recreate it based on how I thought it looked. It was a weird starting point, but the aesthetic of it grew on me, to the point where I started to research more about the human body and how it worked. That became the basis of my art, followed by ideals behind the beauty of the body. The human mind perceives everyone around it, and it makes judgments. But as humans, we hold the same makeup. The bones, tissue, organs, and other items in our body help us live out every day. And that’s exactly what I wanted to explore. My work sorta seems a little crazy, but if you look at it it’s mostly in homage to how each part of us is controlled, pushed, and instituted to create and inspire. Not only for us but for others too.
